Steam Table 1.4

A steam table application is a tool designed to assist users in calculating the thermodynamic properties of water by leveraging experimental data related to temperature, pressure, volume, and energy content in water and steam. The app operates using a scale of either absolute or relative pressure, offering functionalities that allow users to determine steam temperature, pressure, as well as water and steam volumes at different temperature and pressure levels. These features are particularly valuable for thermodynamic calculations. Serving as a convenient portable steam table, this application facilitates calculations of enthalpy and entropy.

Some of the key calculations available in the application include:

• Pressure in MegaPascal
• Temperature in Kelvin
• Volume in m3/kg
• Enthalpy (hf) in kJ/kg
• Entropy (sf) in kJ/kg ⋅ K
• Isobaric Heat Capacity (Cp) in kJ/kg ⋅ K
• Isochoric Heat Capacity (Cv) in kJ/kg ⋅ K
• Vapour Fraction (X) in percentage (%)
• Density (Rho) in kg/m3
• Internal Energy (U) in kJ/kg
• Dynamic Viscosity (Mue) in Pa.s

Some of the key features of the application comprise:

• Finding Pressure, Temperature, Vapour Fraction, Enthalpy, Entropy, etc.
• Generating Mollier Charts using enthalpy and entropy for specified pressure and/or temperature values.
• Creating h-s diagrams.
• Customizing calculation units to Engineering, SI, and Imperial systems. Users can also set the desired number of decimal places for calculations.
• Sharing calculation screenshots with others.

• This application was developed at ASWDC by Ankit Dubariya (140540107033), a student in the 6th semester of Computer Engineering. ASWDC is the Apps, Software, and Website Development Center at Darshan University, Rajkot, managed by students and staff of the Computer Science and Engineering Department.
